Accounting Manager

Location: Madison, WI (On-site)

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 annually, based on experience

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to lead their finance operations across multiple business units, including construction, manufacturing, and field services. This role is critical to their financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and strategic planning efforts, with direct collaboration across leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Manage monthly and quarterly closing processes
  • Familiarity with journal entries and month-end close procedures
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and all financial reporting requirements
  • Supervise revenue recognition, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes
  • Provide financial forecasts and analysis to support leadership decision-making
  • Manage banking and third-party financial relationships
  • Implement and maintain internal accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead weekly financial meetings with executive leadership
  • Supervise the accounting team, including scheduling, performance reviews, and development
  • Promote collaboration and effective communication across departments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including management responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and accounting best practices
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and financial analysis tools
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
