Hochheiser & Akmal PLLC , a premier corporate boutique law firm based in Garden City, New York, is seeking an entry-level associate to join its Corporate Department. Responsibilities:
· Conduct legal research and draft research memos
· Analyze and summarize changes to law
· Support the senior attorneys on projects and tasks as needed
Skills & Profile:
· Strong Westlaw experience
· Proven strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
· Ability to interpret, analyze, organize and express complex legal material quickly and accurately
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and proactively meet deadlines and achieve individual objectives within larger team projects and goals
· High levels of self-direction, self-motivation and energy
· Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
· Ability to effectively relate to and build relationships with all levels of staff
· Ability to thrive in a team environment
· Desire to gain experience and contribute to general corporate matters
Qualifications:
· Admission to the New York Bar
· One (1)+ years of relevant experience
· Strong academic background with journal and/or moot court experience
· Strong computer abilities, including use of Microsoft Office products; Word, Outlook and Excel highly preferred
