Position Overview

As a Community Advocate (bilingual) at Verda Healthcare, you will serve as a crucial liaison between our organization and the senior community in Phoenix. Your goal is to foster trust, create meaningful connections, and ensure that seniors have access to the resources and support they need to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. In addition, you will play a significant role in driving membership growth by building relationships with local organizations and professionals, coordinating events, and educating seniors on Verda Healthcare's benefits and enrollment processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Community Outreach & Relationship Building:
    • Identify and establish strong relationships with community-based organizations, contracted agents, and local influencers to promote Verda Healthcare to drive events and leads, to expand enrollment and membership growth.
    • Serve as an ambassador for Verda Healthcare within the community to raise awareness about services and benefits, especially to Medicare-eligible beneficiaries.
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute local events to engage Medicare-eligible beneficiaries, providing opportunities to learn about Verda Healthcare’s offerings.
    • Organize informational sessions and workshops to promote Verda Healthcare in a professional and approachable manner.
    • Provide clear, informative, and engaging presentations to seniors about Verda Healthcare’s benefits and the enrollment/application process.
    • Ensure that all outreach, presentations, and events adhere to Verda Healthcare's compliance and privacy standards, safeguarding Protected Health Information (PHI) as outlined in the Compliance Program.
    • Work closely with contracted providers, acting as the primary liaison between Verda Healthcare and providers to address marketing and sales-related issues.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with healthcare professionals and other community partners to strengthen Verda Healthcare’s presence.
    • Actively participate in community and professional organizations, staying connected to key stakeholders and trends in senior care and healthcare.
    • Foster an ongoing dialogue with community leaders to support Verda Healthcare’s reputation and service delivery.
    • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the continued growth, visibility, and viability of Verda Healthcare in the community. This includes Broker, Member, and prospective Member support as needed.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • At least 2–3 years of experience working in community outreach, senior services, or healthcare marketing. Prior experience with Medicare beneficiaries is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse populations, including seniors.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously.
    • Ability to deliver clear and concise presentations to individuals or groups.
    • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge:
    • Understanding of the challenges faced by seniors, including healthcare access, Medicare options, and social determinants of health.
    • Familiarity with healthcare industry regulations and privacy standards, such as HIPAA, is highly desirable.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma required. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in marketing, public health, social work, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
    • Health Insurance license a plus
  • Language:
    • Bilingual in English AND one of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese or Chinese

Working Conditions

  • Schedule:
    • Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends required for community events or outreach activities.
  • Travel:
    • Regular travel within the Phoenix area for community outreach and event participation.
  • Environment:
    • A mix of field-based activities, such as home visits and event coordination, as well as office-based tasks, such as reporting and administrative work.
