Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Early Childhood (Preschool) Teacher, located in New York, NY. The Preschool Teacher will plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for young children, fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment. Daily tasks include teaching, monitoring child development, and collaborating with fellow staff and parents to support each child's growth and well-being. The teacher will also participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2) — required
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting
  • Strong understanding of early childhood development, developmentally appropriate practice, and child-centered learning
  • Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and families
  • Bilingual abilities a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and classroom experiences for children ages 0–5
  • Support children’s learning through structured play, hands-on activities, and responsive teaching
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Conduct assessments to monitor developmental progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with families, teaching assistants, and other team members to support each child’s growth
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all DOE and program requirements
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
  • Promote a strong home–school connection and open communication with families
