General Responsibilities

Please note that these are non-benefitted, temporary/contract positions.

Lab Assistant-The successful candidate will have theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on ability in various shipboard engineering systems. They would work in one of the following labs: Internal Combustion Engines, Auxiliary Machinery, Steam Generation, Refrigeration, Machine Tools, Engineering Systems and Safety, or perform maintenance within the labs.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or an appropriate field
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience or professional experience in a relevant discipline(s)
• Have held an unlimited Second Assistant Engineer license or greater, or currently possess an active Third Assistant Engineer's license, and
• Demonstrated work history, teaching, and practical experience in the subject concentration

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution
• Recent experience teaching or in professional service in the maritime field
• Upper-level license
