Thriving Reform synagogue in San Mateo seeks a part time custodian who can work Saturdays and Sundays (approx. 6 hours/day). Janitorial cleaning experience and ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.

Sample Schedule (some flexibility)

Saturdays 10am-4:30pm (occasional additional late-night hours)

Sundays 10:30am-5pm

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Facilities Manager and is responsible for providing for the overall cleanliness of the facility and setup for Temple programs, events, and activities.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain assigned areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition by performing work assignments in an effective manner.
• Perform assigned tasks as instructed by supervisor either alone or with a team.

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of custodial duties (cleaning rooms, bathrooms, separating trash and recycling, etc)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work both unsupervised and with a team
• Demonstrated organizational skills

Qualifications:

• Must be dependable
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Someone who enjoys cleaning
• Must be able to show proof to work in California
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Compensation:

Hourly (non-exempt) position. Wage commensurate with experience.
$22-$25/hour
