Pharmacist – Prior Authorizations (REMOTE)
Location: Fully Remote (Must be licensed in North Carolina )
Pay Rate: $53.00/hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM EST

Position Overview

A-Line Staffing is hiring Remote Clinical Pharmacists to join a Prior Authorization team supporting CVS Caremark. This role is responsible for evaluating clinical information and rendering coverage determinations for prescription medication prior authorization requests.

Remote Work Requirements

• Must reside in the U.S. and hold an active NC Pharmacist license
• Provide your own high-speed internet (minimum 25 Mbps download / 3 Mbps upload )

• Private and secure workspace required (for confidentiality and compliance)
• Adherence to CVS Health’s Teleworker Privacy and Security Practices is mandatory

Key Responsibilities

• Review and process prior authorization (PA) requests in accordance with plan criteria
• Communicate determinations efficiently with physicians, healthcare providers, and patients
• Handle inbound/outbound calls related to clinical decisions and escalations
• Collaborate with pharmacy technicians to collect and assess clinical data
• Ensure timely resolution of PA cases according to service-level agreements (SLAs)
• Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge on drugs, disease states, and specialty programs
• Participate in required training, team meetings, and on-call responsibilities (as needed)

Required Qualifications

• Pharm.D.
• Active, unrestricted NC pharmacist license
• Clinical pharmacy and call center experience preferred
• Direct Prior Authorization experience required
• Strong knowledge of drug databases (e.g., Micromedex, Lexicomp, Clinical Pharmacology )
• Excellent written/verbal communication and decision-making skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable with telephonic consultations and remote work tools
