Principal Scientist, Computational Biology - Genotoxicity Somerville, Massachusetts, United States Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. (or comparable experience) in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related quantitative discipline. 8+ years of experience in discovery research in an industrial or academic setting focused on gene therapy. Proficient with experimental design, data processing, statistical analysis, and bioinformatics analysis/reporting of next-generation sequencing data. A strong experimental knowledge is welcome. Experienced in developing methodologies and analyzing data for genotoxicity assessments in gene editing applications. Experience developing and characterizing gene therapy platforms, preferably in the gene editing space. Expertise in the central concepts of data structures and cloud computing. Fluency in one or more programming languages with bioinformatics applications (R, Python). Track record of success working in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and rapidly growing organization. Improved written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with colleagues from diverse scientific backgrounds and cultures. About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated scientist with a strong computational background and significant experience in biological research. As part of the Computational Biology team, you will collaborate closely with Platform teams to advance our technologies and deepen our understanding of reagent biology. Your role will involve (1) working with biologists to design experiments, (2) developing methods and tools for processing and interpreting molecular data, and (3) presenting findings to an interdisciplinary audience. Your curiosity and passion will fuel your discoveries, while strong connections with biologists and data/software engineers will amplify the impact of your work.
