**Description** SAIC is seeking to hire a **Principal Systems Administrator** with a strong background in VMWare and MS server support. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly learn new technologies. The role involves ensuring the reliability and efficiency of DoD systems through hands-on technical expertise and effective problem-solving. This is an **ONSITE role in San Diego, CA. Must be local to area.** **JOB DUTIES:** + Providing network integration, configuration, and administration support. + Testing, configuring, and documenting network systems. + Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during integration, implementation, and testing. + Providing technical direction, guidance, and training to less experienced staff. + Regularly interfacing with management, customers, and team members. **Qualifications** **REQUIREMENTS** : + Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, with 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in a closely related field. + Must be a U.S. Citizen. + Must have an Active Secret clearance at start. + Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance after start. + Must have a CompTIA Security + certification. + Completion of MS Windows (Windows Server 2008 or 2012 preferred) coursework is required (formal proctored test and registration with Microsoft not required). + Eligible for DoD IAT Level 2 certification. + MCITP (Enterprise Administrator or Server Administrator), MCSA, or MCSE certifications can substitute for the Windows Server certification. + Cisco OS Certifications can substitute for MS certifications. + Strong computer and networking skills with a working knowledge of current military and commercial standards and specifications. **DESIRED SKILLS:** + VMWare Certified Professional. + Understanding of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for network equipment lockdown. + Ability to maintain network compliance with NETSEC directives (IAVA, IAVM).Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Visio, Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. + Experience with VMWare. + Working knowledge of CISCO Networks and equipment for network and serial communications. + Excellent communication skills. + Ability to establish equipment configurations to support operational requirements. + Experience with firewall configuration. + Experience with backup and restoring systems. Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
