Overview

Seeking a highly experienced Professional Military Education (PME) Specialist to join a dynamic team supporting strategic military education initiatives at the Pentagon. This critical role involves developing and evaluating PME curriculum to ensure it cultivates strategically minded joint warfighters capable of leading operational and strategic military efforts in a complex and rapidly evolving global environment. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of military operations, education, and strategy, with a proven ability to produce high-level written products that influence senior military and governmental decision-making.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of related experience
• Master’s degree in Education, Military History, Professional Military Education, National Security, or a related field with 13+ years of related experience

Clearance

• Secret clearance is required

Onsite Requirements

• On-site at the Pentagon is mandatory

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate PME content to meet policy, military doctrine, and educational standards
• Develop and design PME policies aligned with current military strategies, tactics, techniques, and procedures
• Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance
• Research, develop, and implement instructional policies, adult learning strategies, and methodologies
• Conduct continuous evaluation of PME courses, incorporating feedback and adjusting content accordingly
• Collaborate with senior military officials and educators to identify training needs and define learning objectives
• Produce high-level strategic documents, including policy papers, briefings, congressional inquiries, and executive summaries
• Draft, edit, and refine complex military and strategic communications for diverse audiences
• Contribute to scholarly research and advance military education and doctrine
• Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards
• Build and sustain relationships with military institutions, defense agencies, and international partners

Required Skills

• Extensive military operations, planning, and training experience
• Proven ability to develop, deliver, and evaluate professional military education programs
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills with military and civilian personnel
• Exceptional written communication skills, including policy papers, briefings, and official correspondence
• Ability to synthesize complex information and develop persuasive, clear documents
• Proficiency with DoD correspondence and task management systems (e.g., CATMS, TMT)
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and sound judgment

Nice to Have

• Experience preparing strategic-level documentation for senior military leaders, Congress, or defense agencies
• Familiarity with military joint operations, international military relations, and defense strategy
• Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design methodology
• Experience contributing to military scholarly research or publications
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines
