Provides for the delivery of professional nursing care under the direction of the provider. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Board of Nursing - An active license in the state of practice if required upon hire. Medical Assistant performs selected medical assistant and clerical duties that assist in care for clinic patients following established standards, practices, and competency. Works collaboratively with other clinic staff to solve practice-related problems. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department. Must have one of the following certifications: CCMA, CMA (AMCA or AAMA), RMA, or NCMA. Responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients and families. Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide excellent patient care. Performs general nursing care to patients, administers prescribed medications and treatments, coordinates patient care activities, prepares equipment and assists provider during procedures, observes and reports patient’s condition, oversees appointment scheduling, greets and prepares patients for examination, screens patients, documents information, instructs patients in sample collection, responds to patient phone calls, educates patients and families, suggests solutions to patient care problems, maintains exam rooms, assures proper labeling of pathology specimens, performs quality control and maintains lab testing records.
