Comprehensive Therapy and Rehab is seeking a compassionate, dependable Respiratory Therapist who values education, patient connection, and clinical excellence. This position focuses on one-on-one care in our Pulmonary Rehabilitation offices and in patients’ homes with a strong emphasis on serving Energy Workers who have occupational lung conditions related to their past work in the energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment & Care Planning

• Evaluate patients’ respiratory conditions, including Energy Workers with occupational pulmonary diseases.
• Develop individualized treatment and education plans tailored to each patient’s functional goals and medical background.
• Monitor and adjust care plans to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and patient safety.

Treatment & Therapy

• Conduct one-on-one Pulmonary Rehabilitation sessions in accordance with Department of Labor guidelines and regulations.
• Travel to patients’ homes to provide in-home respiratory care and education within professional scope of practice.
• Ensure patients have and properly use prescribed DME (Durable Medical Equipment), including oxygen therapy and related supplies.
• Provide compassionate instruction to patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions.
• Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely clinical documentation for all visits and procedures.

Diagnostic Procedures

• Perform Pulmonary Function Tests (PFTs).
• Oversee Six-Minute Walk Tests (6MWT).
• Assist with setup and oversight of Sleep Studies and Overnight Pulse Oximetry testing.

Qualifications

• Current, valid SC RT License 
• Reliable personal vehicle with valid insurance.
• Negative criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards.

About Our Patients

Many of our patients are former Energy Workers covered under the U.S. Department of Labor programs. These individuals often face chronic respiratory illnesses such as pulmonary fibrosis, COPD, or pneumoconiosis resulting from occupational exposure. Our Respiratory Therapists play a vital role in improving their quality of life through education, rehabilitation, and compassionate care.
