About the Role GSM Services is looking for an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator & Project Specialist who is ready to take their career to the next level. In this role, you’ll be a key player in delivering high‑quality commercial roofing solutions across a wide range of systems and materials. What You’ll Do Estimating & Project Planning Prepare accurate estimates, material packages, and schedules for both re‑roof and new roofing projects across low‑slope and steep‑slope systems. Review plans, specifications, and scopes of work to develop detailed take‑offs for labor, materials, and project phases. Use independent judgment to analyze material options, labor rates, and timelines to deliver competitive, high‑quality proposals. Provide key insights during planning meetings to help shape successful project outcomes. Track actual costs versus bids to ensure cost‑effectiveness and continuous improvement. Sales & Customer Engagement Sell and support commercial roofing projects, including TPO, PVC, EPDM, Asphalt, architectural metal systems, wall‑hung canopies, metal wall systems, and custom metal fabrications. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring the GSM standard of excellence is always upheld. Report sales activity to management as needed and actively contribute to team success. Field & Technical Work Conduct job site inspections to gather information for repairs, re‑roofing, and future project planning. Ensure estimates and labor calculations are consistently accurate and reliable. Support GSM leadership and your coworkers while living out our mission, vision, and values. Perform additional duties that keep projects and teams moving forward. What You Bring Technical Knowledge & Experience 4+ years of proven experience in commercial roofing estimating, installation, or project coordination. Strong understanding of commercial roofing systems, installation practices, and repair methods. Expertise in bid preparation, quantity take‑offs, cost analysis, and project scheduling. Proficiency in blueprint reading and On‑Screen Takeoff software. Understanding of the competitive bid process and how estimating impacts all areas of operations. Skills & Traits That Set You Apart Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical, organizational, and detail‑oriented mindset. Ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering accurate, timely estimates. Critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently with initiative.
