Elko Sanitation , a Waste Connections company, is looking for a  safety conscience Laborer / Driver Helper to join our team in Elko, NV .

Schedule: 4 days/wk - Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays off!

Start time: 4:30am, finishing when the route is complete. (10-11 hours per day)

**Must have a clean driving record, pass criminal background check, & 5 panel drug screening to be eligible for employment.**

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lift customer cans to service on the back of the truck
• Ability to read route Tablet/sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
• Perform Daily Pre-trip and Post-Trip DOT inspections on vehicles. Such as checking fluids, safety equipment, lights and tire pressure.
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities.
• Assist multiple lines of business as needed such as container delivery, commercial, and residential service routes, bulk item pickup, and other areas as needed.
• Operate non-cdl vehicles on designated routes
• Courteous interaction with our customers and perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 100 pounds.
• Ability to mount and dismount the truck multiple times every day while on route
• Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
• The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.

Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with Clean Driving Record (MVR)
• Must pass Criminal background check
• Must pass Drug screen
• Working knowledge of D.O.T. laws
• Ability to read, write and comprehend reports to complete daily assignments in English.
