We are seeking a SECS/GEM Developer with strong expertise in SEMI E30 (SECS/GEM) standards to support integration, communication, and automation of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain SECS/GEM interfaces to enable reliable data exchange between fab equipment and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain SECS/GEM (SEMI E30) communication interfaces for semiconductor tools.
Interpret and implement SEMI standards including E4, E5, E30, E37, E39, E40, and E87.
Integrate equipment with MES, SPC, and factory host systems using SECS-I (RS-232) and HSMS (TCP/IP).
Analyze and process SECS messages (S1 S14) and implement custom message handlers.
Configure and manage GEM services such as:
Equipment status and control
Alarm and event reporting
Remote command execution
Data collection and trace reports
Perform equipment certification and compliance testing with SEMI standards.
Troubleshoot communication issues between equipment and host systems.
Work closely with equipment vendors, automation engineers, and fab IT teams.
Create and maintain technical documentation for SECS/GEM interfaces.
Strong hands-on experience with SECS/GEM (SEMI E30) .
Deep understanding of SECS-II message structure , data types, and protocols.
Experience with HSMS and SECS-I communication.
Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and equipment.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages:
C/C++, Java, C#, Python
Experience with SECS/GEM frameworks/tools such as:
Camstar SECS, Advantest, PEER Group, FabGuard, or similar.
Understanding of equipment models like E87 (Carrier Management), E90 (Substrate Tracking), E94 (Control Job).
Strong debugging and protocol analysis skills.
Experience with MES systems (Camstar, FactoryWorks, Applied Materials, KLA, ASML).
Familiarity with PLC integration and industrial protocols.
Knowledge of Factory Automation (FA) systems.
Experience in equipment automation projects in semiconductor fabs .
