We are looking for an experienced Tax Preparer to join our client in Pickerington, Ohio. This is a Contract position, providing an excellent opportunity to assist with individual and sole proprietorship tax returns during the busy tax season. The role focuses on preparing 1040 income taxes, with additional opportunities to support extensions and develop recurring seasonal collaboration.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual tax returns, including state, city, and school taxes.

• Handle tax filings for sole proprietors, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.

• Apply knowledge of Schedule C and Schedule E to complete relevant tax documentation.

• Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines during the tax season.

• Assist with tax extensions as needed, providing ongoing support.

• Utilize UltraTax software to streamline tax preparation processes.

• Verify accuracy of tax data and ensure compliance with regulations.

• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information.

• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all client interactions.

• Proven experience in preparing individual tax returns, including 1040 forms.
• Strong understanding of Schedule C and Schedule E.
• Familiarity with UltraTax or Drake software is preferred.
• Knowledge of state, city, and school tax regulations.
• Ability to work efficiently during peak tax season.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication skills for client interactions.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
